“Whitney is kind, thorough, professional, and deeply intelligent. It was such a relief having her guidance and support during a period where I was deeply traumatized.”

This realization has been transformative for Whitney’s work. She believes effective representation is not just about legal outcomes, but also about using one’s voice responsibly to create meaningful change, with care for both the process and the person at the center of it.
Whitney’s journey into law was ignited by her early passion for advocacy during her college debate days, where she quickly learned the profound effects that legal decisions can have on individuals and communities.
After exploring various areas of law, Whitney discovered a deep-seated commitment to helping those who have experienced trauma. She spent years in personal injury law, where she came to understand that while cases may seem similar on the surface, the emotional and psychological impact of trauma could differ vastly from person to person.
Her experiences in defense work also played a crucial role in shaping her philosophy. While she excelled in that realm, she often found herself advocating for the very clients she would later represent, educating insurance carriers about the human experiences underlying the legal issues. But this work was disheartening, and Whitney ultimately decided to pivot to a role where she could use her skills to empower others.
At Betts Law Group, Whitney employs trauma-informed practices, which means she understands the complexities of trauma and how it affects her clients’ lives.
She recognizes that healing is a multifaceted journey and that legal processes can often feel overwhelming. Whitney is deeply involved at every stage of a case, making sure clients receive frequent updates, clear explanations, and timely answers, so they’re never left wondering what’s happening or what comes next.

As a certified Rape Crisis Counselor, Whitney is particularly passionate about advocating for survivors of sexual assault and harassment. She approaches these sensitive cases with the utmost care, ensuring that her clients feel empowered to reclaim their narratives.
Whitney’s approach to client relationships is characterized by empathy and transparency. Clients often describe Whitney as tireless, responsive, and unwavering in her commitment to their case. She is known for fast, proactive communication and for following through on what she promises, earning trust not just through compassion, but through consistent action. She is dedicated to treating her clients like family and breaking down barriers that often make legal processes feel intimidating.
Beyond her legal work, Whitney is a dedicated mother of two school-aged boys with her husband, Tom, and enjoys spending time with her family. She also maintains a passion for yoga, which she found helpful in balancing the demands of her career and personal life. Although she stepped back from teaching yoga to focus on building her firm, she continues to practice regularly, finding peace and clarity that fuels her advocacy work.
Whitney wakes up every day driven by the knowledge that she is making a meaningful difference in her clients’ lives. She sees her role as not just a legal advocate but as a catalyst for change, guiding individuals through their healing processes and holding those responsible accountable. Her commitment to trauma-informed care and client empowerment defines her work and her legacy in the legal community.
